The RBT certification is a credential that recognizes individuals who have met specific educational and ethical requirements to work as behavior technicians in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). RBTs work under the supervision of Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) to implement behavior intervention plans for individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities.
To enroll in our RBT training program, you must have a high school diploma or equivalent (GED). While not required, prior experience or education in psychology, education, or healthcare is beneficial but not necessary. All students must be committed to learning the fundamentals of Applied Behavior Analysis.
Yes, this 40-hour course fulfills the training requirement for RBT certification exam eligibility. However, you will also need to complete a Competency Assessment and provide proof of high school completion to sit for the exam. The certification exam itself is administered separately and is only available in English.
The course covers essential RBT competencies including: skills acquisition techniques, behavior reduction strategies, measurement and data collection methods, assessment procedures, documentation and record-keeping, professional conduct and ethics, and the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis. All content is aligned with the BACB (Behavior Analyst Certification Board) requirements.
